During Compassion Week, you will understand the role and necessity of volunteering, gain hands-on community service experience, appreciate the importance of compassion in a variety of socioeconomic contexts, compare and contrast the roles and missions of different stakeholders involved in humanitarian aid.
Possible Topics: humanitarian aid and human rights, migration and cultural diversity, natural disasters and mitigation, context-specific and participant approaches to development, deepening generational divide
During Responsibility Week, you will appreciate the multi-scalar nature of being a responsible citizen, learn how to act on issues that are close to your heart, become more self-aware and build confidence through a variety of challenging activities and stimulating coaching sessions, critically engage with the 21st century global challenges and evaluate solutions
Possible Topics: collective responsibility and self-awareness, environmental sustainability, social action and student activism, integrity and gender equality in sports, positive discrimination, securitization of terrorism threat

Edge is offered to students who are 13 and older, and encourages the development of leadership potential through a focus on LAS's three core values- Innovation, Compassion, and Responsibility. This program dives into a variety of challenging topics that will be explored in depth through company visits, lectures by well known guest speakers, and dynamic activities designed to push students' limits. .
LAS is a Swiss boarding school offering US High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate, and ESL programs. Students enjoy extracurricular activities in sports, arts, drama, and music, and are able to take part in a ski term and cultural travel. University counseling is provided and emphasized, with students attending top universities in the US and around the world.
